Volcanic Ash Avoidance device being tested

AOPA:  EasyJet to test drive ash avoidance system
EasyJet has teamed up with Airbus to test a new onboard radar that would let pilots detect and map volcanic ash from more than 60 miles away. EasyJet says the technology, called Avoid, could help prevent major disruptions like those caused by the recent Icelandic volcano eruption. The Wall Street Journal
