BendixKing confirmed that its KT74 Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Enabled Transponder has received an expanded Approved Model List (AML) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). The system now includes Garmin’s GTN/GNS series Wide Area Augmentation System GPS as an approved data position source. As a result the KT 74 AML STC includes over 700 aircraft models and meets the FAA’s requirements as an approved ADS-B Out* transponder when coupled with a Garmin GTN/GNS, NexNav Mini or Freeflight 1201 GPS system. Earlier this year, The KT 74 received a Minor Change Approval for Mode S operation in Europe with an AML of 981 aircraft.
“This new AML STC allows pilots more flexibility and options for choosing a ADS-B Out transponder to meet the upcoming global mandates, said Roger Dykmann, director of Product Management at BendixKing. “The KT 74 not only meets the global mandates for ADS-B Out*, but as a slide-in replacement for the popular BendixKing KT 76A/C and KT 78A transponders, it provides a simple and economical upgrade path for an ADS-B solution.”
The KT 74 ADS-B Out Enabled Mode S Transponder has a suggested MSRP of $2,999 and offers the following features:
- Affordable Mode S Transponder with ADS-B Out *
- Sleek Design
- Low power consumption
- Stopwatch and timer
- Altitude monitor
- Built-in altitude repeater
- Traffic Information System (TIS) Traffic output

*ADS-B STC (#SA00765DE) required. No FAA STC is required to replace an existing transponder with a KT 74 Mode S transponder [ADS-B Out must be disabled].
The KT 74 is an affordable optimized ADS-B Out Enabled Mode S Transponder, that continues the BendixKing legacy of meeting pilots’ needs with reliable and easy-to-use avionic solutions.
