Occasionally a customer will bring us some “vintage” avionics equipment with troubles. Narco Avionics has quite a few units still flying around that have not been serviced or supported by the factory for years, even decades.
The Narco HSI-100 is such a product. It is a pretty nice, self contained Horizontal Situation Indicator. It is, however, a handmade item, and servicing is difficult. It has been out of production for decades and parts are hard to find.
I was, luckily, able to find two shops who still work on them! When I inquired for tech assist, both shops responded rapidly with the needed data to help determine if it was an aircraft or unit problem.
