Aspen Avionics Announces ADS-B Solutions

12/4/2014

Aspen Avionics announced today that new initial ADS-B solutions are imminent. The certification packages are currently with the FAA. They are now accepting orders with deliveries estimated to begin the week of December 15th 2014 on their first two products, the ATX100 and ATX100G.

Critical Note: some non-Aspen branded certified ADS-B solutions may technically interface with an Aspen EFD Pro and/or MFD but will require a display software unlock of up to $2,000 list to display and control properly on the Pro and/or MFDs.

This unlock is unnecessary when using the ATX100 and ATX100G with Aspen displays. The Aspen PFD will act as the controller for ADS-B functions.

Aspen’s ATX100 and ATX100G single-band ADS-B transceivers receive and transmit on 978 MHz Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) frequency.

· ATX100 – ADS-B transceiver provides an ADS-B solution for aircraft equipped with a Mode A/C transponder and a WAAS GPS navigation receiver. Receives ADS-B subscription-free weather, traffic and meets ADS-B Out mandate below 18,000 feet. The ATX100 single-band transceiver retails for $3,495

· ATX100G – ADS-B transceiver with internal WAAS GPS sensor provides a solution for aircraft equipped with a Mode A/C transponder without a compatible WAAS GPS navigation receiver. Receives ADS-B subscription-free weather, traffic and meets ADS-B out mandate below 18,000 feet. The ATX100G single-band transceiver with GPS retails for $4,995
