Garmin Ranks Number One For Avionics Support

Garmin as the top provider of avionics product support in the 2012 cockpit avionics rankings, with an overall average rating of 8.3. Rockwell Collins climbed to second place with a rating of 7.8, followed by Universal Avionics in third, with an overall average of 7.7. Honeywell’s cockpit avionics rating climbed 1 percent this year, to fourth place and 7.5, tying for the same place with Avidyne, which also scored a 7.5 rating. Honeywell’s Bendix/King division retained the same 7.1 rating as last year, moving to fifth place. Topping the cabin avionics manufacturers list is Aircell, climbing 1 percent to 8.0. Flight Display Systems jumped this year to 7.9, to second place. Rockwell Collins moved up to a third-place 7.6, tying with Rosen Avionics, which dropped slightly, down 1 percent. Honeywell’s score moved up 1 percent to 7.5, putting the company into fourth place. Magnastar saw the largest leap in the overall average rating this year, up 13 percent to 7.1 and fifth place. Thrane & Thrane dropped 1 percent to 7.0 this year.
